Adoption Kits Donation Drive to Support Shelter Pets
Ventura County Supervisor Janice Parvin’s Office has launched an Adoption Kits Donation Drive to support shelter pets, collecting new pet supplies through June 2, 2025. Donations will help create adoption kits for pets finding new homes during California Adopt-a-Pet Day on June 7.

Supervisor Janice Parvin and Ventura County Fire Department to Host Virtual Informational Fire Workshop
Supervisor Janice Parvin, in partnership with the Ventura County Fire Department, will host a free virtual Informational Fire Workshop on Monday, May 5, 2025, from 5:30–7:00 PM via Zoom. The event aims to help Fourth District residents understand updated fire hazard severity maps and their implications for home insurance and preparedness. Attendees will receive guidance on interpreting new fire risk classifications, learn home hardening strategies, and engage in a live Q&A with fire and insurance experts. Temporary Food Facility Training Comes to Simi Valley
Supervisor Janice Parvin, in partnership with Ventura County Environmental Health, is bringing a Temporary Food Facility (TFF) Training to Simi Valley on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce. Designed for food vendors, nonprofits, and event organizers, this local session offers a convenient way to obtain TFF certification without traveling to Ventura. Supervisor Janice Parvin Responds to CPUC’s Proposed Motion to Dismiss AT&T’S Targeted Relief Request Of COLR
Supervisor Janice Parvin has responded to the California Public Utilities Commission’s (CPUC) proposed decision to dismiss AT&T’s request for relief from its Carrier of Last Resort (COLR) obligation in Ventura County. The decision, set for review at the CPUC’s June 20, 2024, Business Meeting, could impact residents’ access to essential communication services. Supervisor Parvin emphasized the need for equitable access and urged continued dialogue with stakeholders to ensure no community is left behind in the digital divide. Ventura County Supervisor Janice Parvin Donates 5,000 Shoes in Collaboration with Operation Warm
Ventura County Supervisor Janice Parvin has partnered with national nonprofit Operation Warm to donate 5,000 pairs of shoes to students in Simi Valley and Moorpark schools, as well as other local nonprofits. The initiative aims to provide children with essential footwear to support their comfort, confidence, and school success. “By ensuring students have access to quality footwear, we’re helping them thrive,” said Supervisor Parvin. Ventura County Fire & Simi Valley Police Department collaborate on safety vehicle
On March 26, 2024, the Ventura County Board of Supervisors approved the donation of a surplus 2018 Dodge RAM Utility Truck from the Ventura County Fire Department to the Simi Valley Police Department, thanks to the leadership of Supervisor Janice Parvin. The vehicle will enhance SVPD’s emergency response capabilities, particularly for SWAT operations, by supporting the safe transport of critical equipment. “This is a great example of collaboration and smart resource use,” said Supervisor Parvin.

Town Hall meeting hosted by Supervisor Janice Parvin in Simi Valley
Ventura County Supervisor Janice Parvin will host a Town Hall Meet and Greet on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 6:00–8:00 PM at the Simi Valley Elk’s Lodge. This free event offers residents the chance to meet Supervisor Parvin, her staff, and local officials, ask questions, and learn how County departments can assist with community concerns. Blood Drive hosted by Supervisor Janice Parvin in Moorpark
Ventura County Supervisor Janice Parvin is kicking off 2023 with a community Blood Drive in partnership with the American Red Cross, taking place Thursday, February 9, at Arroyo Vista Park in Moorpark. This special “Battle of the Badges” event invites the public to donate blood alongside local first responders in a friendly competition among agencies. Donors will receive a commemorative patriotic T-shirt, and their life-saving contributions will help prevent critical blood shortages.
