Supervisor Janice Parvin and Ventura County Fire Department to Host Virtual Informational Fire Workshop
Ventura County, CA — With significant updates made to fire hazard severity maps across California, Supervisor Janice S. Parvin is partnering with the Ventura County Fire Department to host a free virtual Informational Fire Workshop on Monday, May 5, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM via Zoom.
The focus of this important event is to help Fourth District residents understand the newly released fire maps and what these updates mean for their homes, and neighborhoods. The workshop is designed to give the public clear guidance on how to interpret fire risk designations and what steps they can take to prepare accordingly.
Key topics will include an explanation of the new fire maps to help residents determine how their risk classification may have changed. Attendees will learn what these changes mean for home insurance and local requirements. Experts will also share home hardening strategies to reduce fire risk and walk participants through steps they can take to better protect their property. The event will conclude with a live Q&A session featuring fire and insurance professionals.
“These new fire maps are going to have a real impact on residents throughout our region” said Supervisor Janice Parvin. “We want to make sure every homeowner understands what these changes mean and has the opportunity to ask questions directly to the experts. This workshop is about bringing clarity, resources, and peace of mind to our community.”
