Adoption Kits Donation Drive to Support Shelter Pets
Ventura County, CA — Ventura County Supervisor Janice Parvin’s Office, in partnership with Ventura County Animal Services and local community organizations, is proud to announce the Adoption Kits Donation Drive, running now through June 2, 2025.
The drive is collecting new pet supplies to build adoption kits for dogs and cats adopted during California Adopt-a-Pet Day on Saturday, June 7 at the Ventura County Animal Shelter.
“Every pet deserves a warm welcome home,” said Supervisor Parvin. “This is a simple way our community can come together to support adopted animals and the families who open their hearts to them.”
Requested donation items include new leashes, collars, pet treats and chews, dog and cat toys, and waste bags. These items will be bundled into kits that help pet owners care for and celebrate their new furry family members.
Community members are encouraged to drop off donations at any of the seven convenient locations throughout Simi Valley and Moorpark. Participating sites include Supervisor Janice Parvin’s Office, the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce, City of Simi Valley offices, Lucky Dog Coffee, Enegren Brewing, Arroyo Vista Community Park, Moorpark Karate & Krav Maga, among others. A complete list of donation sites is available on the flyer.
For those who prefer to donate online, an Amazon Wish List has been created to make participation simple and contact-free. Items can be selected and shipped directly to the shelter from https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/U9FPF3CWO2H9/ref=hz_ls_biz_ex.
The donated kits will be given to every family who adopts a pet during the California Adopt-a-Pet Day event, a statewide initiative designed to promote pet adoption and reduce shelter overpopulation.
