Simi Valley Residents Encouraged to Attend Wildfire Preparedness Workshop Hosted by Ventura Regional Fire Safe Council and Supervisor Janice Parvin
Simi Valley, CA – The Ventura Regional Fire Safe Council, in collaboration with Ventura County Supervisor Janice Parvin, invites local residents to a free wildfire preparedness workshop on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Rancho Santa Susana Community Center, Multipurpose Room B (5005 East Los Angeles Avenue).
This informative session will provide valuable insights on the recently implemented Zone O regulations, including how to determine if they apply to your property. Attendees will also learn effective strategies to harden their homes against wildfire threats, better understand regulatory changes impacting Fire Hazard Severity Zones, and discover how individuals can contribute to broader wildfire prevention and community resilience efforts.
The workshop will also include a Q&A session, giving residents an opportunity to ask questions and gain clarity on requirements that may affect their homes and neighborhoods.
This event is made possible through funding from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection’s (CAL FIRE) Wildfire Prevention Grants Program. The program is part of California Climate Investments, a statewide initiative that uses Cap-and-Trade funds to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, support economic growth, and improve public health—particularly in underserved communities.
